Kern County Energy Watch is a multi-faceted program designed to help you save energy.

Free Home Energy Analysis Program

The Kern County Energy Watch Program offers a free home energy survey to homeowners in Kern County. Eligible energy customers also receive free compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). Some customers may also be eligible for installation of an internal and or external hardwired lighting fixture. Kern County Energy Watch will also suggest no-cost and low-cost tips and home improvements to save energy and money.

Call the Energy Watch Office at 888-324-0930 to request an in-home energy survey. Or click on FREE HOME ENERGY SURVEY for more information.

Single-Family and MultiFamily Home Direct Installation Program

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) and Southern California Edison (SCE) are canvassing designated Kern County neighborhoods to identify moderate-income customers, California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) participants and senior citizens who may be eligible for free energy-saving products. Qualified customers living single- and multi-family homes may receive free installation of selected residential energy efficiency measures, such as interior or exterior hardwired lighting fixtures.

For more information, call Energy Watch Office at 888.324.0930.

Municipal Energy Efficiency Program

PG&E and SCE, in cooperation with the Kern Council of Governments, are implementing needed energy-efficiency improvements in designated municipal buildings.
